Social Distancing Celebrations

If you’re like me, you like to party. Others like to lounge with Netflix. However, I like to get dressed up and dance, even if I am alone. Yes, I may get all dressed up with nowhere to go, except home. The journey to getting “fancy” is half the fun! I drink a cocktail and blast my tunes, where my only dance floor is my kitchen floor. No shame, give yourself permission to live unapologetically and dance, because nobody is actually watching!

However, now can also be the time to lean into our new reality and embrace the limitations. Meaning, we need to get creative and make diamonds from this pressure. How about a fire with friends, build a snow bar, use glow sticks, a costume themed ruckus, and dance music? Host a mini winter event or games with your close friends who mask up. Host an outdoor tree decorating event. You may not be wearing your favorite gown, but you can always wear your favorite onesie no matter the weather. You are never too old to play, which is exactly the antidote we need today.
